Artist Statement:

Always thinking of the human condition

 the world we exist in

how we think we are existing.

The past creating the future

with out knowledge.

Then,

the now,

here,

then

there,

shadows & shapes

lines & cracks

blending

with colors

leaking every where.

All connecting without thought.

This and that

along with

my mood & emotions

inform my works.

My art is about gifting the viewer with a abstract perspective of the life we are experiencing...

What is a Giclee?

A giclée (zhee-CLAY) is an individually produced, high-resolution, high-fidelity reproduction done on a special large format printer. Giclées are produced from digital scans of existing artwork. Giclées are superior to traditional lithography in several ways. The colors are brighter, last longer, and are so high-resolution that they are virtually continuous tone, rather than tiny dots. The range, or "gamut" of color for giclées is far beyond that of lithography, and details are crisper. Giclées use inkjet technology, but far more sophisticated than your desktop printer. The process employs six colors--light cyan, cyan, light magenta, magenta, yellow and black--of lightfast, pigmented inks and finer, more numerous, and replaceable printheads resulting in a wider color gamut, and the ability to use various media to print on. Giclée reproduction can be done on archival paper, canvas, or even metals and glass. The ink is sprayed onto the page, actually mixing the color on the page to create true shades and hues. The quality of the giclée print rivals traditional silver-halide and gelatin printing processes and is commonly found in museums, art galleries, and photographic galleries.  At Art By Jaqulin any of my original paintings can also be special ordered as a giclée reproduction print in many forms. For example, you might want to order a giclée printed on stretched canvas in the exact same size as the original painting because you want to give copies to your children or maybe the original painting is no longer available for purchase. We always enhance our stretched giclées with the same lustrous varnish we use on our original paintings for a near-to-original look. It is also possible to order a giclée on flat canvas or on archival paper that is signed by the artist and suitable for framing under glass. Art By Jaqulin is happy to fill custom orders and commissions of all kinds. Let’s collaborate to create some art for your home or office today!

Jaqulinwas born in New Orleans and attended the University of New Orleans. Jaqulin acted as Assistant Art Director of Agora Galleries, an active gallery pre-Hurricane Katrina (man, that place rocked!!!). While in New Orleans, she worked with Joshua Broussard, the studio's Director & Interior Designer, while also owning and operating  her own art studio, Abstrax Arts Photography Studio. When Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005, Jaqulin moved to San Diego, California to re-open Abstrax Arts Gallery & Photography Studio in University Heights / Hilcrest. Jaqulin notes this move as "a wonderful experience, one that [she] willnever forget." In 2008, Jaqulin closed Abstrax Arts Gallery & Photography Studio, which returned the finefunkyartist to the dirty south, on a new journey--The journey of Jaqulin.com.
